Diverite is pretty cool.  Their products are limited to back inflate designs.  If that is what you are after, then ok.  If you prefer a jacket style then look elsewhere.  There are many other good brands and designs out there.  Boils down to what you want in a BCD like what inflation system, harness, pockets, amount of lift, durability, D.Rings, light or heavy etc etc.

Get a reasonably good quality backplate, make your own webbing (divegearexpress.com), buy a good value-for-money wing, and you've got a solid BCD at a low price that will last you for many years.

All the above can be had for below $500.

If you want a simple no-frills backplate and wing setup, I believe Dive Asia also sells the Fathom One backplate for under $500 too

I suggest you find a way to rent a backplate and try it out first. Bcd is a major investment, don't buy and then find its not to your liking.

Fren uses dive rite. Sturdy stuff. Not sure if local distributor covers warranty for BCs bought from DR online. Might want to check that out too.

Don't be too quick to throw your money into a BCD.

Oxycheq
I have been told this brand is not branded but it's durable and lasts very well.

There is nothing call the best bcd in the world. It's the comfort you can setup with under your own preference. Get a good one and it can last for long till the day you quit diving.

I can't say dive-rite is the best bcd. In fact, it's really difficult to define what best actually is. It's pretty good brand, but I prefer halcyon.. :P
So they call it a 'FACT' coz someone made some statements on a 'FACT SHEET'? hummm...

agree with edwinpang, no best  bcd in the world. Like comparing Toyota vs Honda or BMW vs Merc?
Most important is it has to serve the right function with the right type you want (B/plate? jacket?), and u must like it, from the design to shape to even logo.

U use car to compare is not right.  There is a difference between a bmw and a Toyota...

It's like all the chicken rice...  It's all different flavour. But same thing

Everyone has its own chicken rice store...  Or dun care which chicken rice store it comes from...
