Birthday Gift for husband
« on: 25 May 15, 18:03 »
Hi all,

I am a new diver and same as my husband, just got our license and my hubby birthday is coming up. I guess he needs a dive watch/dive computer/bottom timer. Not too sure which one to buy first. also where to get and what brand. We are staying in Singapore, I don't mind to purchase via internet

My budget is about $200-$300. not too expesive because we are newbees.... lots of other stuff to buy XD

Many thanks in advance

Suunto Zoop might be a good one to start off with.

dive com!! important, good and not too expensive!

one size fit all! hahaha, get a zoop black, nice and abusable. I didn't changed my batt since 2011 with almost 150 dives and above!
Diving is like passion, deep and sensational, and sometimes dangerous.

Taking a break from diving. Boohoo~

Got to agree with missV. I'm using zoop too. Don't expect bells and whistles its as simple as it gets. Very rugged, good as a first dive com. Falls within your budget as well.

Another choice would be mares puck pro. Has backlight but only has one button (zoop has 3).

Mares Puck Pro will be a great choice if you want a simple yet durable dive computer. We have been using the Puck Pro as our rental dive computer for more than 3 years and have yet to have any that fails.

Below is some of the advantages
  • Ease of use and it comes with backlight function
  • Literally flood proof -
    NOTE
The battery compartment is sealed from the
electronics, so that in case of a flooding of
the battery compartment the dive computer
is unharmed. In such event, you will need to
rinse the compartment with fresh water, dry
it thoroughly, replace the o-ring and put in a
    new battery.
  • Low maintenance as it allows user to change the battery themselves and it cost around $5 to get it from a hardware shop, you do have the option to buy a new oring which is not expensive

Best of all, we are currently having a sales at $289 for the Puck pro and you have a wide range of colours to choose from. Contact us if you are interested to find out more
