  • Finally the on fly time countdown ended this morning. Managed to access the Dive Air/Nitrox mode. Glad that there's no problem with my D4. I remember a triangle with a exclamation mark in it showing but the Air mode got locked out.

Thanks for all the help! =)

The triangle is for diver attention not indicator computer being locked out. No fly time is inidicated by airplane on the top left corner.
Usually triangle appears after diving and it remind diver to have prolonged surface interval, usually it gone by 1-2 hours if you have surface interval that long.

When i did my next dive, the triangle still shows up. Anyways there is another Diver using a Sunnto Stinger but his dive computer did not prompt him anything.

  • Suunto Stinger using different user interface it's similar to mosquito. It will not prompt triangle.
D4,D6, & D9 has similar interface. Litery triangle will always there if you have multiple dives for one day with about 1 hour surface interval and usually it will be gone by next days.

  • Stinger and Mozzie do show the triangle as well.

Anyway, as it was on it clearly thought you hadn't had a long enough surface interval.  Surprised it would lock out for that though, thought that was for missing deco obligations.

  • maybe reading the manual might help?

i'm always amazed at how i meet divers on trips who just take a dive computer out of the box and go diving. then after the dives they ask why the computer is beeping non-stop as they rocket to the surface without a safety stop, and why there is a triangle, a square, a circle and a cross.

  • Tend to agree, also read the bits you may not intend to use. While most I have come across know what the basic layout means they have no idea what the solid up/down triangles are for or why the screen layout just changed (deco obligation). You don't want to be given deco stops and have no idea what the computer is telling you unless you want a trip to the chamber or sitting out the next 48 hours before it will work again.

  • It wont lock you out for going that deep, it will do it  if you dont do the deco.

Yup.. thats my point.. he did not know his comp needs him to do deco stop!  ;)

Some ppl use dive comp as expensive depth gauge.  ;D
