Sup guys!

I am having problems with my Suunto D4. I have a total of 4 Dives in a day. The first 3 dives I can access to Dive Air mode but on my last dive with was a night dive, the dive computer did not prompt me for a safety stop. I found out that it was on Dive Free mode. I think i accidentally switch it to dive free mode. It happen yesterday which was on 25/09 and now the no fly hours is still left with 35 hrs. Is it after the on fly time then I will be able to which to Dive air mode?

Sorry this was a virgin dive for my D4.

  • I thinks its only possible to switch from Air to Nitrox but not the other way around. You have to wait till the nofly time has counted down to zero to do that. I am not sure about Free Dive mode though, but I will think its probably the same, you can switch to free dive but not the other way around. Lets see and wait till you clear your no-fly time. I be interested to know too.

  • I cant believe that i could make such stupid mistake as to instead of switching to Dive Air mode, I switch to Dive free mode. I guess I'm the only diver that make such stupid mistake which cause my night dive and the dive on the next day to be recorded as Dive Free mode as I could not access Dive air mode. Will update again when the no fly time has counted down to zero. Really hope that it's not a malfunction of my D4

  • Hi, its not a malfunction. Your D4 will have to wait till the no-fly countdown is set to zero. The reason for this is simple. The computer has no way of calculating your nitrogen level when you switch to other mode and back.

  • Hi thread start,

I believe you did not do your safety stop correctly or the computer lock you out. I too face this problem previously, also thought that was my computer that was faulty. If you read the manual, you can set the watch to be not so conversative. i believe it's 50%.

But just came back from Bali without any problem. Lucky nv send in to service center, got to mail over to finland i believe.

  • Finally the on fly time countdown ended this morning. Managed to access the Dive Air/Nitrox mode. Glad that there's no problem with my D4. I remember a triangle with a exclamation mark in it showing but the Air mode got locked out.

Thanks for all the help! =)

The triangle is for diver attention not indicator computer being locked out. No fly time is inidicated by airplane on the top left corner.
Usually triangle appears after diving and it remind diver to have prolonged surface interval, usually it gone by 1-2 hours if you have surface interval that long.
