i-Torch Shoot Out
« on: 16 Dec 11, 17:53 »
Hi all... this is a Pool Side Dive Torch shoot out for i-Torch.   :)

The Submersibles - http://www.thesubmersibles.com/divein/ - is the official S'pore distributor for i-Divesite, maker of i-Torch and i-Das. The Submersibles provided the torchlights for testing at their shop, located at SAFRA Mount Faber. They also arranged the test to be done at the Pool in SAFRA.

Due to the limited amount of time we had, to use the pool for ourselves with the lights off... and other unforeseen issue with SAFRA's people. We had to do the shoot in abit of hurry. Therefore... I like to apologize for the low quality of the photos.  :(

Shots are taken in the 1.8m depth of the pool... camera setting is set to manual, aperture is set at f4, shutter speed at 0.5 of a sec. Camera inside the casing is mounted on a tripod.

Personal Opinion
A simple and inexpensive torchlight... isn't really powerful, but I find it rather good as a camera's foucsing light during Night Dive.

Personal Opinion
A nice solid dive light. A light that is suitable to be use as a secondary light... aka, backup light. You could see some distance at night with this light... but best not more than 5m.

Personal Opinion
Have similar output as the i-Torch Evo... it is slightly bigger than the Evo but lighter in weight due to its mainly plastic body. And like the Evo... suitable to be use as a backup light.

i-Torch Advance B

Personal Opinion
A small (thin) but powerful dive light... but having seeing and testing its newer 'brother', the i-555... I would recommend the i-555 over the Advance B. But this doesn't mean that the Advance B is no good or anything... its just that I would rather pay slightly more for the more powerful i-555.

I-Torch 555 aka i-555

Personal Opinion
The i-555 is what known as 'a flooder'... a light that is good for lighting up a large area. As you can see  from the photo of 5m... the light doesn't have a bright hot spot... but evenly lighted up a large area. Not so good if you what to see far, but very good if you want to light up a large area without any hot spot.

Video Pro 2

Personal Opinion
Very similar to the Video Pro 2... the only difference is that it has only one mode and doesn't come with the newer RED LIGHT mode. Powerful and compact... but again, with a newer brother out already... I recommend paying slightly more for the Video Pro 2.

Personal Opinion
One of the best priced, high power video light that you could also use as a dive light. Having 4 power mode with 1 more red light mode... this light is flexible for taking photos, video or simply use as a dive light. Highly recommended.
