Would like to highlight that ACE Travel Insurance will only cover damage to personal items due to "theft, robbery, burglary or threat of violence".
They DO NOT cover accidental damage while many other insurers do.
This is the most restrictive policy wording on this matter that I have encountered.

They might have changed the policy recently? I use them for my annual travel insurance and have made mostly post-trip medical expenses claims from them with no problem. So can't comment on damage to items.

ACE's policy wordings re damage to personal items are as stated so buyers beware.
Mine was accidental damage to camera.
I have been buying ACE but now looking to switch. Not sure if wordings recently changed. Prior to purchase, I  was just making sure scuba diving activities are still covered. No problems with medical claims from ACE.

Good point and thanks for highlighting. Please let us know when you find a good alternative insurance policy that covers accidental damage and scuba diving activities as well, thanks in advance!

From further research, the restrictive wordings (ie damaged to personal items can only be claimed if due to theft, robbery, burglary or threat of violence) only applies to the ACE "SafeTravel" product which is marketed by Citibank credit cards.

The ACE "My Voyage Guard" product marketed by AMEX credit cards do not have such restrictive wordings.

Bottom line is to read the Policy Wordings every time, regardless if its the same insurer.
