Life Saver!

My throat gets so dry that I choked when diving. Thats why I always has my "Life Saver" with me. Cost only $1-$2 but the relief is heavenly. Do get some quizzical stares from other divers though. For those who have not tried but want to, timing is essential. After breathing out, remove reg, stick the nozzle in mouth and pull it out with teeth. Consume beverage. Use teeth to push nozzle back to lock it. Stick reg back to mouth and purge. So refreshing!

breathe slower

Best advice!  Problem with most divers having dry throat is quick breathing.. too much dry air passing thru ur throat not giving enough chance for your body to naturally produce moisture.
So they call it a 'FACT' coz someone made some statements on a 'FACT SHEET'? hummm...

kind of agree with this..
the lining of the throat kind of naturally produces some kind of liquid-mucus that is normal
[our bodies produces all kinds of these to protect us actually - eyes, inner ears, etc]
when this get damaged or dry out (in this case the compressed air), we get this tickly feeling aka dry throat

I am using metal reg, but sometime I do feel dry on my throat too.
guess is u really need to drink a lot of water before the dive. this help quite a bit.

if not like the rest stated, bring water down lo... hehe

tried before with a bottle of coke... drank 50% liao, then next 50% gana mixed with salt water... :(
