Hi all...

I'm leaving for Bali on the 10th of June for my AOW and am planning to get the MasterPlan @ AUD75. is it sufficient? furthermore, its less than a month to my trip, would they process it in time?

Thanks in advance all.

Sounds abit overkill if it is just for your upcoming AOW...
But if you intend to dive a lot more throughout the year then it should be good...

I'm not a DAN member but correct me if I'm wrong...
The Master Plan ($75) is an optional insurance and does not include the membership fee...
So I think you gotta relook the prices if you think its only $75...

The DAN membership fee is $70 and if your want to be covered you have to add an extra $75 for the Master Plan... $70 + 75 = $145 -> per annum..
Unless, you are already a DAN Member lah...

For my dive trips, I usually apply with World Nomads...
They cover Scuba activities in the 'Explorer' package...
Its about $11(USD) for a 2 day trip...

Well if you're diving really often, the DAN insurance would definitely be worth it.

The Master Plan is the perfect cover if you're diving within recreational limits, and it covers the cost for DCS treatment as well. The Preferred and Preferred Plus Plans make more sense only if you're doing deeper than recreational depths, or if you really travel just for diving REALLY often.

The do process everything within a week, though from my experience, they don't respond until you do. I had to email them to ask for my membership number and confirmation of receipt of payment, a week after the money's been credited to them. You can add the additional A$10 for the fast processing fee, which is worth only for really last minute planning.

yup, i've scrutinized the website further so yeah the AUD75 is on top of the annual membership fee of AUD70. Will check out World Nomads, thanks for the tip!

ahhh 1 week. yeah i guess that'll be sufficient. but i think the package will take a few weeks to get posted here so i might consider the AUD10 fast processing fee.

Thanks all!

read up more about World Nomads. Unfortunately, i cant seem to find out what are the breakdown to the extent of coverage provided (pertaining to scuba diving). furthermore, upon reading on reviews, i found this particular review that made me a little wary of buying from World Nomads.

i guess i'll stick to DAN since its their niche area. nonetheless, thanks for the advice!

I just applied for DAN m'ship and the Masterplan (do it annually as I prefer to have assurance of mind with my diving emergencies, should there be any, handled by people that know what they are doing) in April. I got my email confirmation and number in about 4 working days?

The package will arrive later, but you're already covered from the time you get the email. Imho, save the AUD$10 fee.
