T3 - T1 Manila Airport Transfer

  • I've got a changeover of 3 hours 45 minutes between a SQ flight (T3) and a United Airline flight (T1) to Palau. Will this be sufficient for the transfer including the security check and all. I will arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday and will be taking the cab to T1.

  • I did the same thing...   But i took the airport bus. Cost 20peso person.  It need to go one big circle around...  To T1. The location to the bus stop is not very clear.  If u ask me to do find it again.  I may not be able to do it again .
Maybe by cab is faster?  But traffic is going to be a little jam up because of the timing.  We still made it.

The main thing to remember.  UA has another security check right at the boarding area.  After u have check in your luggage,  you head to the boarding area.  You have to go through a another body search and stuff.  So it's best to get there as soon as you can So that you can get though that.  It can jam up a little there...

  • Traffic is horrible outside T3 due to construction of a major highway right outside the airport.... took me over an hour last year just to get a cab... and security checks outside airport isn't any better... best is don't waste any time moving from T3 to T1...

Nov... visiting my wife's family... transiting through Manlia... had to wait over an hour with my family (and young son) for a taxi to the hotel... we were even willing to pay for the more $$$$ 'Airport Taxi'.... even that is over an hour wait... public taxi even worst....  >:(

  • Thanks hellhole. Some traveller on other forums also advised to take the transit bus to avoid the jam.

James, transfer in Manila airport sounds like a bloody nightmare.

Wasn't so bad till they decided to expand the road and build a overhead expressway, right infront of the Airport... just don't take your 3hr for granted and be at T1 as early as possible....

  • Heard that the new highway will be 'operational' end of this year. It is to be ready before Aquino leave office. But you know how things are in the Philippines..it got delayed and maybe it can end up open end of next year instead! LOL

If highway open as planned end of this year, it be all good for you. If not traffic jam is like shit and somemore it is the super peaked hour traffic at the time of landing.

The moral of the story here is to check when this toll highway going to be open.
