Tioman - Cost effective way to dive?
peterm:
Since I just came back, just share my experience for your reference.
I book my coach ticket from konsortium at sgd 60 each (including school holiday surcharge sgd 15), should have book through 5 stars.
Ferry to Tioman is RM 70 round trip
Accomodation is RM 250 per night for a family room for 4 (including school holiday surcharge RM 30)
The rest is food, and for scubasg reader case, diving also.
If you try to book package in singapore, don't think have package to Salang.
Either Paya or Berjaya at Tekek which is more expensive but better quality accomodation.
But diving at Salang is better.
Manage to even see the resident hawksbill just by snorkelling ;)
If you want to let your kids see fishes at knee level, my previous experience is paya can achieve that.
Salang need to go slightly further (but doesn't means MUCH deeper)
And, Salang seems to me has less fishes during snorkel but more interesting ones including anemone or clown fish.
Diving is a different story.
Salang can see tons of it.
Just my experience, hope that helps.
