Hi folks!
I'm thinking to order this DIV03 torch but was told by the lady that the burntime is just 1 hour..
Just want to verify with those already own it, is the info correct? (assuming using commonly sold AA size alkaline battery)

Im also considering to get DIV01, which burntime is 4-5 hours, using 3 of C size battery.. what do you think?
Note: Planning to use it for primary torch (i'm quite new in underwater world)

Thanks!

The one hour burn time is when the torch is very bright. After 1 hour, it will still be working, just not that bright.

Coincidentally, I was just running a burn time test yesterday. I left it on for 3 hours and the torch is still throwing out light, although after 3 hours its kinda dim (like some cheaper torches, but still usable I guess). The torch got pretty hot though, but I guess no issue for a diving torch.

After work today, going to continue testing and see how long it takes for the batteries to die completely.

Hi Barebear, your burn test was done on land or in water?
I'm thinking of using it for land but worried the circuit may burn...

Oh, on the torches, I personally would prefer the DIV03. I feel the DIV01 is too large and I'm guessing it must be very heavy. In future if you decide to use a Hogarithian setup, it would be hard to clip off the big torch.

Whereas the DIV03 is very compact, although it is heavy because of the aluminum casing. It also uses much more commonly available AA batteries. There are lots of advantages to this, because if you are at a remote location, it is easier to find AAs.

Also, with AAs you can easily find good rechargeable batteries.
