I will be travelling to China in Nov for 2 weeks, I need to access to Gmail and Google Docs during the period. I understand that Google is blocked in China. I was told by my friend that one of the best and in expensive way is to use www.strongvpn.com. Anyone has the experience with them? is the service reliable?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
KP

you can try to check using this:  http://whatismyipaddress.com/

If it still says SG, or no services detected, then most likely not working.

This is free! https://www.tunnelbear.com/

I set up a VPN on my own router at home, and connect to it while I'm in China. Free and no additional apps needed. But you need to set up the VPN and configure on your phone.

I tink a paid VPN service is more trustworthy. There are lotsa free vpn that are banned in china.

I signed up with www.strongvpn.com, anyone tried this in China? Anyone have tried other VPN service and confirmed working in China?

I don't mind sign up with another VPN service provider to ensure that it works.

Thanks.
