"Ring of Fire" Dive Trip

  • Thanks to Triprific for making this trip happened. Flew into Ambon to board the KM Black Manta for 10 days of sailing and diving.

Sailed eastward from Ambon, around the Banda Islands, then westward passing Alor and Pulua Komba where the active volcano Batu Tara lies. This was my first and only experience to be so close to an active volcano, and its spectacular fireworks was amazing in the evening.

Did a total of 33 dives out of the 36 scheduled. The 3 skipped were night dives. Not many macro shots this round as only brought down the macro lens for the first 3 dives while still at Ambon Bay.

  • It has been a while and I'm going to borrow this thread to share some photos of mine I took during the same trip.   :)

    Some macro action..

Actually got poked by fire urchin while shooting this pair of Colman Shrimps!  Ouch!!

More fire urchin action.. and I like this shot very much.. :)

    Some mating action..

I tried shooting some small reef fish too.. But keeping them in focus is really tough!

Not the best I've seen.. but I liked the colour!

Din and others shot some really good Wide angle shots, so I will not embarrass myself here.. hehe..

But I do have something I thought are interesting to share.

These kids are really natural in water.. some were as young as what looks to me like 3~4 years old.. and playing in the sea!  Btw, I almost drowned shooting these photos!  :P :P :P

I was also fortunate enough to see some spear fisherman and took a few shots!

    Hope you guys like them!
So they call it a 'FACT' coz someone made some statements on a 'FACT SHEET'? hummm...
