  • Hi,
Does anyone know if there are actually diveable places on our mainland? Don't need to be very nice but there's something to see underwater.

  • There are old quarries in Singapore, like the Singapore Quarry at Bukit Timah and Xiao Guilin in Bukit Gombak. There should be some things to see underwater there. But whether diving in those areas is permitted is another issue.

    1) Singapore Quarry: http://www.singaporeplayground.com/2010/11/singapore-quarry.html
    2) Xiao Guilin/Little Guilin: http://martialangel.blogspot.sg/2011/04/lifestyle-paradise-in-little-guilin.html
    3) Old Tampines Sand Quarry: http://flyfishingmain.blogspot.sg/2006/07/old-tampines-sand-quarry.html

Diving in reservoirs is not likely to be permitted.

Underwater World at Sentosa* has a "Dive with the Sharks" programme.

*Sentosa is not the mainland but it's the most accessible island.

  • I think we don't even mention the word "reservior" here....and we better stay far away from one if we don't want to eat curry rice and polish steel bars...hahaha! We might become famous because of Stomp...

If you have any good lobangs that might be sensitive to share, please PM me.

  • I know that Keppel Island is technically not mainland but even more accessible than Sentosa (and a thousand bucks cheaper than the aquarium dive...):

Somebody must be diving there as I have seen some phots of the marine life exhibited in the entrance area of the marina...
"Marina at Keppel Bay sends divers regularly into the water to chart the growth of coral reef, animals, fishes and plants through photographic captures. The thriving marine community is testament to Keppel's environmental focus."
