Redang DC Recommendation
« on: 16 Jan 17, 15:30 »
I've Email to Redangkalang Resort to book my trip and got this reply from Diver's Den

"Redangkalong Resort is no longer under our management nor ownership.
The said property is sold to a China Operator.
At the moment we do not have any contact information of their operations.
If we have any info will share with you.

The Diver's Den Reservation Team is now move and booking into
CORAL Redang Resort which is a 3 Star Hotel on the famous Long Beach.

We are acting on behalf to make bookings for them.
If you have any enquiries we can help make reservations for you.
Our Original Dive Team is set up at this resort,
and our representative is stationed there to help oversee your guest when they are there."

Any commend on Caral Redang?

They only sold it last year, Aug 2016 if I'm not wrong - my dive group was their last dive group with Diver's Den under Redang Kalong.

I did booked a May 2017 trip with Diver's Den under Coral Redang, will update here after the trip. First impression after booking - it is slightly more expensive than Redang Kalong, mainly due to the lodgings cost.

Also, I found it weird that they expected me to pay 100% upfront before the trip, and they refused to budge even though I mentioned that we only paid around 20% when Diver's Den was under Redang Kalong. Since I already bought my bus tickets to Redang and back, I made the payment.

its understandable as this is not their resort.
probably if they book the resort at Coral Redang and someone play no show, they have to bear the cost unlike previously they could just take the 20% and leave it empty.
revolution is nothing but the start of the next fall.

Thanks. Hope it's service is still as good as old times. Will wait for your reviews.

Hello guys back from my Redang trip with Coral Redang.

I think Coral Redang is worth it, the rooms are really good, compared to Redang Kalong. I would gladly pay for the price difference. The rooms are spacious, furniture is new, toilet is spacious, the beach is really beautiful, the water is so clear, not too crowded in the resort - i would say around 40% are divers when i was there. Food is good, i do look forward to the soups daily. Nearby there's also a famous beef noodle shop that sells out by 5pm, so skip one lunch for it!

One thing to note though, there is no wifi in the rooms, only at the lobby. But then again, if you are diving 3 dives a day, there's no point for wifi. I bought a Celcom simcard and barely used it.

Dive-wise, I actually managed to dive with the brothers, AB Lee and Tim. They were the owners of Redang Kalong and AB Lee is still the owner of Diver's Den. Very seasoned divers, professional, the equipment looks new and very well-taken care of. Feels like a tight community. They even taught me how to clean my own BCD, reg etc (i just bought them during ADEX 2017).

Dive timings if i remember correctly is 8:30, 11:30 and 3pm, usually if we are coming from singapore we will only be able to make it for the 3pm dive (even if you take the 9am ferry from Shah Bandar Jetty). Night dives are a min of 4 i think, and you need to request for it in advance.

What else have i missed out? Let me know. Definitely will plan a trip again in 2018 with them!
