  • Hey, appreciate ur info sharing and updates!
Yeah, putu from Prodive updated me on the latest volcano video:(
    Not good..
Matahari also updated saying all guests are evacuated to their next nearest Amed resort.
    Airport is standstill for now.
A much bigger affair than in oct, not good:(
I Guess will select a diff Dive site come Dec in the event Tulamben vicinity  is all shut.
How did u select ur current dive operator? For me, I just Hantam the nearest to the site for easy shore entry and convenience!
Dive it like u mean it

  • 13 Dec 2017, that's 15 days from now.  Nobody knows if the volcano will eventually have a major eruption anytime soon.

If you can get to Bali (assuming airport is open during your trip, a safer bet is Nusa and Padangbai.  I would make alternate plans.

In early Oct 2017, I was there.  Initially booked for Tulamban but 2 weeks before my trip, the situation then looks gloomy so I decided to change to Amed, but was told of the uncertainty too.  So, I cancelled Tulamben (and forget Amed) but changed plans to Padangbai instead.  And yes, Tulamben and Amed were closed just shortly before my trip (good thing I changed plans else whole trip may have been cancelled).

  • yes.Globalcookie, noted thanks all the good folks for sharing on this thread.
the dive guides from the respective dive operators Prodive and Matahari were kind to share with me their situations as of this morning eruptions.
All were evacuated to Amed for time being..
as situation progress i hope all are safe and all properties remain good.

Monitoring the 13th DEC silkair flight and denpasar airport and may possibly seek a postponement of the trip entirely.all flights/resorts/hotels been booked in nov.
but if by then all settled and no further eruption, i may proceed to padangbai as suggested by Globalcookie.

Globalcookie,It must have been beautiful tulamben...

  • There are many parts in Bali could be explored, even if not diving. So if stuck there,  quite easy to pass time.

  • So many things to do in here, if you can't dive Tulamben/Amed area by then you could just dive padangbai areas, see some mantas and there are also so many other things to do ...tours & etc that are not in affected areas.
AquaMarine Diving - Bali organizes all that stuff if you need. 8)
