  • Was not very happy with the dive guide. He was taking photos instead of "guiding" us.
As a result me and my buddy was as good as diving on our own.
When we surface, we saw our dive guide on the boat without his dive gear on.
Which means that he has been on the boat for a while and was not even bother abt us.
Should'nt they be concern about our whereabout and safety????

    Ouch.  :o  That's quite a bad experience.
Which centre did you dived with? Not sure if we are allowed to share it though. I had 2 dive guides, one on each day. The first one is very very nice and good with the sites. She could find almost 90% of what she said during the pre-dive briefings. The second one is not too bad. Gave me alot of tips for my G9.  ;D
    Diving is like Sex.

The first time you try, you are nervous but it’s still the best thing you’ve ever tried.
The more you do it, the better it gets. As you do it with more people, you learn new techniques. With experience, you can do it longer and deeper.

  • Just got back from Phuket as well.
Went to Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck and Koh Dok Mai.
Agree with lionteh that there were many patches of bleached coral reefs and it all look so depressing.
However the current was damn strong and the visibility was between 3 to 5 m only.

Thats why its called "Off Season"  ;)

Overall a bad trip for me.
The leopard shark was good but was not able to salvage the bad experience and mediocre dive sites.
Was suppose to do another day trip of diving but decide to cancel it.

Very sad.... may I ask, is it a local or an 'AngMor' guild ?? (my guess is AngMor)  ???

Well, at least you did see the shark....  :P

  • I had 2 local guides. The first dive site was guided by 1 and the other 2 by another.

Was expecting more than this from local dive guides. Nobody gave tips when they brought out the tip box.

We had 30 pax or so on the boat so can u imagine how bad the service was?

There was only 4 to 5 divers to 1 dive guide .

  • Let's not name any DC here. I think if anyone want to find out, please PM the member concern, in this case Sparkle. But of course, if you prefer to post it here, please inform the dive company involved, so that they can respond to the post. I think this is fair.  ;)
