  • First of all, heartiest congratulations on the new forum! I was pleased to have stumbled across it. It seems nicely active already, and I hope it grows from strength to strength in an inclusive and friendly manner.

For anybody who would like to get information about dive sites they plan to visit or have visited around Phuket and in the Similans/Surins areas, I have posted descriptions and maps of dozens of dive sites in my webpages Clicking on the dive site names will take you to the descriptions pages, which also contain a thumbnail map. Clicking on the map will bring up a larger map image.

I have a few Singapore friends who regularly come up to dive with me here, and it would be great to get to know more of you. Drop me a line if there's something I can help with.

  • Thank you both for the warm welcome. I may have some last-minutes to offer for liveaboard trips, but in my experience my Singaporean customers have a hard time getting leave days at short notice, and the last-minute airfare generally cancels out a lot of the savings with the liveaboard, so I don't usually bother posting them.

Generally speaking I package trips for individual divers according to the their needs rather than forcing the divers to conform to some prescribed package. Make sense? It costs the same no matter which way you do it, so why not do it in a way that makes the customer happiest? I've had several groups arrange charters, and those really do come out at a better rate, but again, I'd rather hear from the group and tailor the package to their needs than to simply post up an "offer" and then deal with people who need one sort of change or another in order to participate.

Really, I don't mind spending the time to prepare a package so that it fits like a dive glove to the visiting diver's needs.

Just let me know if there's anything I can do for members here. Letting you know where to find great dive site maps seemed like a good first step!

Sparkle, it's unlikely that we will find any last-minute offers at that time of year since it's peak season, but if you can come in early November, or even October (now that Malaysia has shut down a number of the dive sites S'poreans go to), I can probably come up with a last minute deal for you, but it will be hard to promise which boat until about a week before the trip date.

Anyway, feel free to contact me for options when your dates are set. We have dozens and dozens of liveaboards going out to the Similans, and sorting through the schedules, prices, inclusions, exclusions, etc., can be a real chore without the help of somebody with local experience to guide you.
