  • Hi
Planning trip to Manado in Sep.
Any advice for diving in Manado ? Any dive operators to recommend ?
will be staying in Kima Bajo resort so I think its nearer to Bunaken Island. Is it worth it to make a trip to Lembeh Strait as its seems quite a distance from the Resort ?

Anyone also tried night diving there ? How is it ?

Any other good activites there as well besides diving ?

  • I used to dive with Minahasa Divers when i was there few years back. Used to stay in Tasik Ria but i think they operate from Hotel Sedona now.

You can visit their website for more information:

I think you should definately make a trip to Lembeh if you have the time.

Tried night/ evening diving theree as well. Can't really remember much but think it was good. YOu should do at last 1 night dive since ur there.

There's not much activities there except eat and massage but im not sure about now coz i was there abt 4 to 5 years back.

  • Try Two Fish Divers.... http://www.twofishdivers.com/

They have operation from both Bunaken & Lembeh.... my suggestion, stay a few days on each place. They take Euro as payment.... and Euro is at an all time low  ;D

On your question of is it worthwhile to visit Lembeh.... Its my all time fav place. Just remember to bring plenty of Memory Cards for your Camera  ;)

  • If you're staying at kima bajo then you'll be diving with eco divers. They're operation is a daily 2 tank dive to bunaken before lunch. and then a dive along the manado coast after lunch. there's a mandarin dive available along the manado coast which i think costs USD$50.

i stayed a week at kima last year cos i won it as a prize. very nice resort (ie very expensive). Didn't really fancy the 2 dives to bunaken and 1 dive along manado policy though.

Lembeh is a must do if you're interested in seeing macro life. But it's preferable to stay at a lembeh based resort instead of doing a day trip. reason being the trip takes anywhere from 90min-120min from the manado based resorts. you're sticky and salty after doing 3 dives in cramped boats and then heading back. not a nice feeling.

Lembeh based resorts offer a more comfortable diving experience and a chance to do night diving in lembeh which is pretty amazing.

    Hi what's a mandarin dive ?
Can't really change the resort as going in a group with non divers as well so will probably do 1 day diving only.

You mean bunaken dive is not good at all ?
