  • Yeah, there's not an awful lot of stuff to do in Padang Bai. Sanur has all the restaurants and shops.

  • Is staying at Lembongan itself the same as Padang Bai with no restaurants and shopping?

  • Lembongan has plenty of shops and restaurants, it's pretty commercialized and touristy now. Also it'll save you lots of travel time if you're planning on diving Nusa Penida.

  • Two questions.

Is 7 days of diving too many for nusa lembongan as there arenít that many dive sites in penida?

Is it correct to say that Padang bai has more dive sites than lembongan as Padang bai dive sites include penida, mimpang tepekong and of course Padang bai while lembongan dive sites are only those around penida?

  • 7 days is quite a lot. With 7 days you could do a safari that consists of dive sites on Bali and Penida. If youíre planning to do both then itís better to be based in Bali cos itís easier to move around. Dive shops on Lembongan do visit Padang Bai sites, but only very rarely.

  • So 7 days would be too many for just penida itself in your opinion?

My last two trips to Bali were 6 and 7 days of diving each, and was based either in Padang bai or close to Padang bai

  • The Penida/Lembongan area has 10+ sites. You're likely to repeat sites if you do 7 days, especially Manta Point/Bay and Crystal Bay since those are the most popular. If that's not something you mind, then go for it!
