Canon G16 - Flash

  • Hi everyone,

I am trying to find out how to use the flash for the G16.  I had select flash (on) mode, toggle the flash up, but the flash just doesn't work.  Is there something I missed out?  Can anyone advise?  I search the net and doesn't seems to get much info so far.

  •  1st thing 1st... check to see is the flash even working... switch to Auto mode... find a darken place (not totally dark mind you)... and take a shot... it Auto mode... the flash should automatically go off as the camera try to get the correct exposure...

  • Thank you for pointing out.

I go figure out a bit first... was trying to see how to force the flash to be on for underwater mode.

Next I got to learn on the ISO, Apecture and Shutter, how to set, etc.  Will search online a little too.

  • Good part about digital camera is that its much easier to learn as you can almost instantaneously see the result... 'play' with your camera often.. get to know it.. try difference setting... and you'll.get the hang of it...  :)

  • I'll be trying a few modes this time.  Safe modes will be P and Auto, while I will also do some manual modes when I do house reef dive on first day.  Hope to see better results this time :D

  • Just make sure you only use the flash close-up... do so to avoid backscatter...
