  • its not the camera that matters... it's the light. you can get great photos from an ixus if you have the right lighting.

Everything matters lah.  If not why make high end models?  If anything, the one behind the viewfinder (or LCD) matters most! :)

Actually antacid is nt wrong.. Most cameras can take good photos.. After all, it's just playing with lights.. If u understand the equipment.. Can be creative to overcome those limitations.

But that said, why make life so difficult.. Better equipment offer flexibility, thus allowing freedom for one to 'express' themselves thru photos or capture that priceless moment for MEMORY :P :P :P.. So why use ixus? Buy a DSLR!!! Oops.. Ermm.. I mean s100/G1x/LX5 or something liddat lah.. Haha
So they call it a 'FACT' coz someone made some statements on a 'FACT SHEET'? hummm...

Ooi ! adding 2 strobes + ext marco lens + ext wide angle lens to it still call beginner set ?  ???

it's not the WB problem..... add a strobe to your camera the blue blue will gone, and colour will be restored.

Poison is never ending here....  :P

What John pointer out is correct... Lighting is everything in Photography. The problem is we have very very limited control regarding natural 'Lighting' underwater. Which is where $$$$ Strobes comes in. Agree with our senior 'Mad Dog'... or aka, Siaokao too, why make it so hard when Technology is out to help us. If proving your skill is all important.... use Pin Hole or Film camera lah. Shoot... no review, pray that you got it right.  :P

Anyway thanks for all the comments! I think I have a clearer picture now. The first thing to do is just to get a camera and join you underwater photo kakis! Then when I know myself better (as well as the photos i wanna take) I will slowly know what kind of camera I need right! and slowly upg upg upg $$$ hehe
