  • what unknown is compatibility with strobes, plate n wet lens. that worry me more than other factors as compared to the housing specs. dun wanna use a housing with lots limitation on the wet lens, especially I go for fisheye lens n macro shot at time. so far found more pple using nauticam than other brands. maybe ikelite housing can catch up after the  review by others.

  • as far as i can tell. there are no limitations with using the ikelite housing. full functionality with both front and rear dials unlike the ikelite housing for let's say the canon S-series where only the front dial is accessible. also the ports of most ikelite compact housings are 67mm threaded so no issue there also. only issue is the compatibility of the WA wet lens with the camera lens. the RX-100 being 28mm at the wide end will be a suitable camera to be used with WA wet lens as shown by some sample pics in the links i've posted. even the upcoming F.I.T. housing will have 67mm threads at the port and likely full functionality from what i can see in the drawings. This housing is likely to be very reasonably priced.

It's OOS at many shops in Sim Lim. Most still quoting $900+

Thx! I did a bit of digging and found a place in Centrepoint that was spot on $900 for the last unit. Places in Funan were a bit more expensive in the shops that had stock.

More people use Nauticam cause it is big in the US - the biggest market... not cheap but an option not discussed in this thread is the Patima housing. Directly from Korea is that I believe some 30% cheaper than Nauticam: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Patima-PDCH-RX100-Underwater-Housing-for-SONY-DSC-RX100-digital-camera-/181021130053?pt=US_Camera_Underwater_Housings&hash=item2a25b33d45

We have two of their housings for our Canons and the quality can only be described as "bomb proof". Never seen something more solid. The RX one comes with a direct thread for wet lenses on the port, so that would fit your bill...

Continue digging, please and do share if you come across better offers :) I'm eyeing a unit but am in no hurry to get one till early next year. Appreciate it if you also update what underwater hsg you'd be getting and the usage of it underwater too, when you're ready.

    Cheers!
