  • It really depend on your finning method. the best is to borrow different fins from other divers to try out yourself if that particular fins suit you or not.

Another point would be the stiffness of the type of fins you intend to buy, whether you will find it suitable for your use. fins that are stiffer/more rigid in design require more leg muscle for propulsion while the more ' rubbery'/softer fins and split fins would require lesser movement for propulsion. The last thing you would want is to have muscle soreness from finning against current which will make your dive not enjoyable.

From the two fins you posted. the Aeris Accel would be less stiff/rigid as compared to the Mares Avanti Quattro, so it will cause less strain to the calf muscles.

also, the Accel is shorter and weigh slightly lesser if you are looking to travel with your fins.

  • Thanks winchester, thats the reason why I am confuse. Bcos I do not really know what is my finning style yet. I am in fact more incline towards Aeris Accel but I do not know if the lighter would cause a difference in the performace.

  • I was given an Aeris Accel and recently used it on a dive trip. My first impressions of the fins: they are extremely light, small and have a very short blade similar to snorkeling fins. I was surprised at how efficient they work underwater with a variety of fining styles. They performed very well (similar to my previous mares fins) in the frog kick, sculling and flutter kick. I will recommend the Accel if you are a leisure diver going to tropical destinations, but if intend or are doing technical or coldwater diving, then perhaps jet fins may be more suitable.

  • I own a pair of Aeris Accel...
I've heard of people diving with twin tanks and had no problem finning...
and there were many that converted from JetFins as well so I guess there's a possibility to go Tech with this...

For its price, weight, size and its surprisingly good performance...
Its a very good buy :)

  • Thanks luc and schushoes.. I have in fact decided on Scubapro Twin Jet and already ordering from overseas. Its simply love at first sight. But just like women with tonnes of shoes, I will be getting on Aeris Accel in later stage since the reviews from you guys were wonderful and not too much an investment.

  • If I remember correctly... they are about the same..
The F2 is just abit shorter and not as wide...
    The F2 is stiffer too...

I guess you got to factor in the size when you compare the fins.  IMHO, I love my F2.
