Sad indeed.

While not knowing the full circumstance of this incident, we should all be reminded to surface with a deployed SMB!
So they call it a 'FACT' coz someone made some statements on a 'FACT SHEET'? hummm...

i have some confusion here as this source mentions 'snorkelling' and also 'diving'
Surprisingly confusing article from an english paper.  ???

i guess it was probably snorkeling and free diving at the same time.

i don't think they were diving. it was quoted in dailymail that 'The two victims and two other friends were diving outside the safe zone and were not wearing safety jackets,' why would they be wearing safety jackets if they were there diving?

A most unfortunate incident. My condolences.

So nobody can confirm if they were diving or snorkelling or free-diving?

she should be doing snorkeling/freediving, diving is mentioned by the police, which i suppose is not well-versed in this sport.

Be it snorkeling or diving, the loss of life is sad.

maybe it time to encourage the use of a towed marker for every dive group, as most malaysia dive destination is getting more and more commercialized with much more divers below and passing boats above...
