Bringing Dive knife overseas

Hi guys,

Will I get into trouble for having dive knife in my bag while clearing custom?
Referring to Malaysia or Indo via Non-flight transport.

The dive knife is small, about 15cm for overall length. Blade is maybe 7cm long only.

no problem.
got checked a few times once they open and saw all the dive gear, they ignore it.

You can certainly check in but you can't carry it onboard

For travelling by plane, check in together with your regulator with check in luggage, I never have any issue at all.

when going to Malaysia, put in same box as regulator. But the knife must not be too long nor double edged dagger.

Keep it with all your dive gears.... if custom officer ask, just tell them its for scuba diving.... most would understand... happened to me while traveling back to SG and getting out of Changi....

Nowadays, Malaysia customs will ask you to scan any big bags you're carrying. If they ask about the regs or knife, just tell them you're scuba diving and they'll let it go.

Same for the Singapore side, but of course, they're more stringent and may ask you to remove the knife for them to see, if it looks more like a combat knife than a dive knife...
