Bus to Tioman(to&fro)

I don't remember a souvenirs shop. There was a shop selling snacks and tidbits, and other hawker shops. I think there is an older bus terminal that is closer to the jetty (and I think also where the Singapore coaches stop. Not sure), but most of the malaysian buses go to this newer one. Search "Terminal Bas & Teksi Mersing" on Google Maps.

That is like the opposite side of(away from) the jetty.
So that is where we get the bus/ busticket bck to Larkin/Singapore??

I've been to Tioman a couple of times and always take the Transnational bus to Kuntan which departs at 10pm (will stop by at Mersing). The return leg is from the Mersing bus station which is along the river but is about 10 minutes walk from the jetty. The bus is always delayed, sometimes by up to an hour so do factor that into consideration. Tickets can be bought online from redbus or onlinebustickets.. just google bus from Mersing to Singapore.

WTS has got an afternoon bus from Mersing JETTY to Singapore but getting a ticket from them is more complicated. Refer to their website to see what I mean. Nowadays I take a bus to mersing but on the return journey I can back all the way. Takes me only 5.5 hours from the ferry to Tioman to my bed at home. Cost is RM200 for taxi from jetty to Larkin and SGD55 for taxi from Larkin to home in Singapore. I like this arrangement because of all my heavy gear and because of the bus delays on the Malaysian side.

Cool explaination!!! Ive always thought the bus was at the jetty itself.. thanks all for the explainations...now im clear as to where to get the bus from.

I usually buy the ticket from busonlineticket[dot]com for both ways.
They are few travel agency for different pick-up locations to tg gemok...
I'm still prefer a private hire car for return trip as mentioned by other divers due to heavy dive equipment (too bad... lack of diver for cost sharing)...
