we are interested in diving at spots where they hv more marine life. not so much of a muck diver kind... but more attracted to see pelagic giants...

Definitely head to Sipadan, though once you go there, you will be sian with other places... 

Nowadays when ppl in Dayang tell me got a "school" of 4-5 bumpheads, I ask them "you call that a school??"... hahaha cos you can see schools of hundreds of bumpheads in Sipadan, not to mention the wall of batfishes, and the thousand upon thousands of barracudas and jacks doing the vortex

We had a upclose & personal encounter with a couple of reef manta rays at Layang Layang, which was unforgettable. & lots of dolphins during the trip... We were satisfied with the food... Overall, happier with Layang Layang than Sipadan...
At Sipadan, it was barracudas, white-tip reef sharks & grey reef sharks...
Unfortunately, we are not in a huge hurry to return to both places.
Could you let me know the total price for each place? I think if Maldives is within $500 more, I would choose Maldives instead...
