I just did it this past week. They provide all gear including drysuits n overalls. All u need is warm thermals n thick socks n be prepared for e cold. It is a lot of waiting n briefing n gearing up for a short one dive in winter. Mine was 25min in 2-3 degree waters. U can also opt to snorkel as newbies to drysuits like me had to contend with bouyancy issues n leaking drysuit.
Diving.IS was e company i went with.

awesome - funny feeling right?
i dive drysuit before and u get the funny squeeze on the legs when going down

pretty good write-up and much better photos for those who are interested. really helps being comfortable diving in a drysuit.

Silfra crack actually opens up to the biggest or 2nd biggest lake in iceland. the dive area itself has no life i was told but the lake has freshwater fish. so the dive is mainly rock formations and some algae which fouls up the super vis a bit.

They have a one day package. about 1 hour intro to drysuits, then briefing and fitting and go dive. bouyancy is an issue, lugging 12kg of weights and a steel tank is no joke. and the rental drysuits don't fit very well. mine leaked a bit cos i turned my head too much during the dive. but at 2 degrees water and air temp below zero i didn't really feel much of a diff anyway lol.  :P

Thank you for sharing the video and experience! Iceland looks as cool as the pictures show, hoping one day I'll be able to dive there!
