Just a quick thought I had about going NITROX certified. some questions if the veterans don't mind entertaining.
1.can i still dive air after being nitrox certified? will i get confused?
2.nitrox is still chargeable by many operators. does benefits override additional costs?
3.currently using a SUUNTO ZOOP NOVO. will i still be able to toggle between air and NITROX on the dive comp assuming some operators don't have NITROX and i have to dive air?
For Suunto Zoop, when you switch to Nitrox, you can't switch back to air within I think 24 or 48 hours, but you can still change the O2 mix to 21% when you have mixed of Nitrox and air during a dive trip. But if you are going on difference trips, as long as it is more than 24 or 48 hours, you can switch back from Nitrox to air.
As for confusion, just make sure your dive come is set to the right air mix, should not have any confusion.
Most operator (including my LOB) charges use of Nitrox because that involved cost of buying pure Oxygen to do the gas mixing.
